Who can resist the comfort and security of a reliable t-shirt? Claire Stansfied and Cheyann Benedict certainly couldn’t when they decided to launch their own clothing line in 2003 called C&C California. Named after the two prominent actresses, C&C California beachwear exudes a style that could only be called ‘California chic’. The two young girls loved t-shirts for their comfort and reliability, but they felt that a t-shirt could be so much more than just ‘comfy’. Why couldn’t a ‘T’-shirt also be a ‘wow’-shirt? Inspired by cultural icons of the 1970’s like Ali McGraw, Raquel Welch, Jacqueline Kennedy, and Natalie Wood, Claire and Cheyann set out to create a beachwear line that was just as sophisticated and classy as these 70’s stars but at the same time comfortable enough to wear with swimwear on and around the California beach.
